Aurora, over an area north of Scotland towards the Arctic Circle, observed from Blacktoft Sands near Adlingfleet, Yorkshire (East Riding).  Junction of Horseshoe Lane and Horsegrove Lane.
The purple colour is given off by charged nitrogen molecules about 100km into the sky.
There must be something more . . . .
